A&BAA National Youth Championship set for April 23 and 24

The Official launch of the TropicalShipping/A&BAA – The Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association National Youth Championship Press Conference was Tuesday 23rd February, 2016.

The Championship Meet is slated for April 23 & 24 at the Yasco Sport complex. 

Receiving a cheque from the sponsor #TropicalShipping is Mr. Everton "Mano" Howard Cornelius – The Interim President of the Antigua and Barbuda Athletic Association A&BAA. 

The meet is promised to bring about athletes from age category u9 to u15 from all schools, teams and clubs. Through this meet along with many zonal primary school meets, athletes will be identified for the upcoming overseas meets which include, CUT – Caribbean Union of Teachers Games in July this year.

The press conference attracted five distinguished speakers as the bottom line anticipates a meet that can coax the multinational sponsor, Tropical Shipping into developing a partnership with A&BAA for the next 33 Years and beyond. 

Speaker # 1. Mr. Everton  "Mano" Howard Cornelius – the Interim President of A&BAA

Speaker#2 The Hon. Minister of Sports / President of NOC,  Mr.  E.P Chet Greene

Speaker #3 & Chairperson : Mr. Hill – Marketing coordinator of the A&BAA

Speaker#5 The Manager of the sponsor #TheTropicalShipping

Speaker#4 The Hon. Junior Minister of Sports – Mr. Colin James.

A cheque valued US$9000.00 was accepted on behalf of the A&BAA. Also a number of national youth champions  accepted gifts from the sponsors; namely 

1. Mia McIntosh the 2015 A&BAA u13 Girls champion

2.Sekoi Joseph the 2015 A&BAA u11 Boys

3. Zody Roberts the 2015 A&BAA u13 Boys champion

4. Joella Lloyd   the 2015 A&BAA u15 Girls champion

5. Kasiya Daley the 2015 A&BAA u9 Boys champion
