Champs tickets up 50%

Track and field fans will see an increase in the cost of tickets for March’s Boys and Girls Champs, to be staged at the National Stadium.

According to information reaching Trackalerts.com, ticket prices have gone up by as high as 50%.

The Bleachers tickets that cost $1,000 in 2015 for Saturday’s final day will now be sold for $1,500, an increase of 50 per cent.

Grandstand tickets for Saturday saw an increase of 22.2 per cent, $4,500 up from $3,500 in 2015.

Also, the season ticket holders will see increases of 16.6 and 18.74 per cent respectively. These tickets will now cost, depending on the category, $8,000 up from $6,5000 and $9,000 up from $7,500.

Several persons have since taken to social media to voice their disapproval.

Collin Sewell, a high school athlete, said: “Wonder what caused the raise? Damn … thank God I don’t have to worry about that.”

Pro’spero De Uno said, “this big jump from $1000 to $1500 for bleachers on Saturday is TOO HIGH!”

Nicholas Bailey Shand “so glad I’m an athlete.”
