Tyler joins World Athletics Center

PHOENIX – Kevin Tyler has been appointed as the Education Director & Lead Coach for the 400m and 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Center, Phoenix.
 
Tyler has previously worked as Strategic Head of Coaching & Development at UK Athletics where he led the coaching strategy, re-developing the entire coach education program and instigating major coaching initiatives including uCoach and UKA's advanced CPD programs.  

As a director at the Canadian Athletics Coaching Centre (CACC) at the University of Alberta, Kevin acted as lead contact with funding agencies and developed world-class education programs for Coach Education and Athlete development at elite and youth level.

His vast experience gained at the University of Oklahoma and British Columbia as a coach and technical manager, and also Sports Marketing Manager at Nike (running), give him a unique skillset. 
'I have admired the work at the center for sometime now and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to join the team there,' commented Tyler.  

'I have really enjoyed working at the college level, but I could not pass on the opportunity to work at WAC because I really believe in what they are doing and it allows me to utilize and grow the skillsets I developed at UK Athletics, CACC and Nike.'  
'WAC is unique because they truly understand the need to have an athlete-centered program that offers a full array of services.  They recognize the need to do things right the first time, and grow over the long term.'  
In his role at the World Athletics Center, Tyler will have responsibilities to help develop and deliver the mid to long term strategy for their coach development programs.
