Sprint king and queen respectively, Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce got what many American track and field superstars only dream about — to be greeted by arguably the world most powerful man, Barack Obama.
American President Obama during his visit to Jamaica on Thursday where he hosted a youth forum, hailed Bolt and Fraser-Pryce and said at a town hall meeting at the University of West Indies in Kingston, “I get a chance to say hi to Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce,”
He did not stop there. “Well, you have the fastest people on the planet. You’ve got to say hi to them, right? “There are a lot of people out there. and they’re the fastest,” Obama commented which drew laughs from the crowd (Video link here of Obama).
Bolt and Fraser-Pryce were among the specially invited guests for the Question and Answer session with the President.
Olympic 200m bronze medalist Warren Weir was also present.
