The 2014 Chris Brown Invitational Meet is cancelled. The meet was cancelled because of the unavailability of the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.

Chris Brown described the cancellation as "extremely disappointing"
"I was told that the stadium was not going to be ready in time for my event due to the preparation for the World Relays, and I accept that," he was quoted by the The Nassau Guardian.

"I am totally disappointed for the simple fact that so much hard work has already gone into it (the meet). All of the athletes already have this meet booked on their calendar for the 2014 season."

In 2013, stars such as Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kirani James, Justin Gatlin, David Oliver, LaShawn Merritt and Jehue Gordon, competed at the inaugural Chris Brown Invitational.

The meet was scheduled for April 12, however, because of work being done on the stadium for the inaugural IAAF World Relays Championships, set for May 24-25, the meet would not have a home.
It is estimated that it will cost the Bahamian Government over $12 million for work on the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium.
