Yohan Blake and Noah Lyles showdown for USATF Bermuda Games

The USATF Bermuda Games will be staged for the first time on April 9, kicking off this year’s World Athletics Continental Tour Gold circuit. The entry list is not short of top names, headed by 200-meter world champion Noah Lyles who goes up against former 100-meter world champion Yohan Blake in the men’s 100.

Olympic gold medalist Steven Gardiner is scheduled for the 200 meters and three-time Olympic medalist Kirani James will open his season in the men’s 400 meters together with new world indoor champion Jereem Richards. The 110-meter hurdles world champion Grant Holloway leads the start list in his event.

Yohan Blake scores big win at American Track League

The top name on the female athletes list is Sha’Carri Richardson, who will open her season in the 100 meters.

USATF Bermuda Games is the first event that London-based Sports Agency Astra Partners and Astra Events is organizing with the full support of USATF in cooperation with Bermuda National Athletics Association (BNAA) and the Bermuda Tourist Authority. The event focuses on sprints, hurdles and jumps due to the early date, and 140 athletes from over 20 countries are expected to compete in 15 events.

  1. Its a good test for Lyles’ 100m speed and Blake to assess, if he can remain relevant with younger sprinters fastly emerging.

    • Patricia Daughma I don’t believe there are folks who hate athletes, but those athletes are their least favourite.

  2. My money is on yohan, ready to take back his place in men’s sprinting. My neck is on the chopping block I’m starting the wagon I won’t be a wagonist after he performs.

  5. Louie Foster he had appendicitis going into the olympics, if he did 9.9+in that condition he can do 9.7+. Now that sorted out.

  6. But Blake I think has retired or is not really a main contender in the 100m anymore, so what kind of showdown is that 🤣😅😂
