Jamaica’s 2011 world 100m champion Yohan Blake has a change of heart and is looking forward to contesting the 200m this season.

Blake, who announced last year that he would drop contesting the half-lap event, said work with his new coach Gregory Little is showing positive signs.

He said Little “has formulated a plan for me, and it has been working perfectly going to over distance and getting back my 200m means that I will be getting back to 9.8 and 9.7 which I know I can.”

Blake, the second-fastest man ever over 200m with 19.26 behind Usain Bolt’s 19.19, opened his season on the weekend with 48.24 in the 400m at the Camperdown Classic.

He told the Star newspaper, “(I) am talented, and I see where I am improving in training and also in the 400m today and so definitely, I probably looking for both events.”

Blake finished 5th in the Doha 2019 men’s 100m final with 9.97. He failed to make the final of the men’s 200m.
