Yohan Blake is beaming with confidence ahead of this weekend’s Diamond League final in Zurich on 29 August.
Blake is the only Jamaican qualified for the Diamond League men’s 100m final. He faces world champion Justin Gatlin (USA), Adam Gemili (GBR), Zharnel Hughes (GBR), Noah Lyles (USA), Michael Rodgers (USA), Akani Simbine (RSA), Alex Wilson (SUI) and Zhenye Xie (CHN).
Christian Coleman will miss the final because of three missed tests. He will face his country’s hearing in early September.
“Its another week, and guess what, its race week, and it’s my week,” he said in a post on his social media page.
“I proclaim it (week) right now in the name of Jesus. This week is mine,” added Blake, winner at the Jamaica Trials.
He encouraged followers “anywhere you are right now, wherever you’re standing, sitting or at work, you proclaim this week, and it’s yours.”
“And if you are happy, just sing a song,” continued Blake, who started to sing ‘i want to thank you lord’ lyrics.
Blake, the 2011 world 100m champion, has personal best times of 9.69 (100m) and 19.26 (200m).
