Elaine Thompson-Herah, Jamaica’s fastest woman indoor this season, is not going to the World Athletics Indoor Championships, Belgrade 2022.

Thompson-Herah, the world’s joint second fastest with 7.04, it seemed has opted not to attend the event in Belgrade from March 18 – 20.
Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) President Garth Gayle told Trackalerts.com that Thompson-Herah, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games sprint double champion, is “not available”
The team, however, will be led by Shericka Jackson and Briana Williams. The latter is the sixth-fastest in the world this year with 7.09, while Jackson is 14th best at 7.12.
Jamaica has included a women’s 4x400m team, but only three men will make the trip.

FEMALE: Shericka Jackson (60m), Briana Williams (60m), Roneisha McGregor (400m), Stephenie-Ann McPherson (400m), Junelle Bromfield (400m Alt), Natoya Goule (800m), Britany Anderson (600mH), Danielle Williams (60mH), Kimberly Williams (Triple Jump), Danniel Thomas-Dodd (Shot Put).
4x400m – Bromfield, McPherson, McGregor, Tiffany James, Tovea Jenkins, and Janieve Russell.

Certainly Elaine needs to take her rest, keep healthy, and come back fresh and fit.
I think the younger upcoming athletes deserve their time to shine. There is a changing of the guard coming and there is no better time than now to give them this exposure.
Well at her last indoor meet she did say see you outdoors which signals that she wouldn’t be competing, so nothing to see here.
Excepting for Merlene Ottey, indoors has never really appealed to many Jamaican athletes.
