World leader Danielle Williams, on Sunday (18 Aug), qualified for the Birmingham Diamond League women’s 100m hurdles final with the fastest time.

Williams, in heat two, secured her place in the final with 12.53 seconds. The wind reading was 2.1m/s.

Tobi Amusan of Nigeria followed her across the line in 12.71. Brianna McNeal of The USA was the other automatic qualifier with 12.72.

Meanwhile, Janeek Brown was the only other Jamaican to advance with 12.88. She was third in heat one behind Americans Nia Ali, 12.81 and Chadwick Payton, 12.86.

The wind reading for heat one was 0.5m/s.

Megan Tapper, 13.07 and Yanique Thompson, 13.19, will miss the final at 10:22 AM EST.

Americans Kendra Harrison, 12.93 and Tiffani McReynolds, 12.97, also secured the places in the final.
