Wanda Diamond League new look

The Diamond League on Monday officially rebranded as the Wanda Diamond League, thanks to a new title sponsorship agreement announced earlier this year with the Wanda Sports Group.

The title partnership has been agreed for a ten-year period ending in 2029.

Furthermore, Wanda Sports Group will work closely with World Athletics to create a new annual event. The rebranding also sees the Diamond League assume a brand new logo.

Also the rules changed comparing to last season, all events will have the same number of qualification meetings before the final, there will be six but in 24 events (last year 32).

The top 8 (100m, 100/110m Hurdles, 800m and technical events except HJ/PV) or top 12 athletes (1500m/long distance and HJ/PV) will be awarded a start at the Final.

In the 200m, 400m and 400m Hurdles, the top 7 athletes qualify for the final. In case of a tie, the best legal performance of the qualification phase wins.

The place for the new Chinese meeting scheduled for May 10 is not yet announced.
