PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Rio Olympics men’s javelin bronze medallist Keshorn Walcott will be honoured by the Toco/Sangre Grande Regional Corporation (TSGRC) with the keys to the town of Sangre Grande.

Walcott, who won Trinidad and Tobago’s lone medal at the 2016 Olympics, will be given the keys at a ceremony carded for Tuesday, September, 13. He will also have a street in the town named after him.

The 23-year-old from Toco, a fishing village in the TSGRC, won his second Olympic medal after his historic gold in 2012. His victory four years ago was celebrated across the twin island republic when he was driven directly from the Piarco International Airport to his town.

Since his return from Rio on September 3 he was feted by the East Grove North community in Valsayn, where he currently resides. He is expected to visit Toco soon.
