Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has once again been named the US Female Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News, receiving 100% of the votes after her win in 2021.

After graduating, McLaughlin-Levrone accepted a scholarship to the University of Kentucky, where she continued to dominate on the track.

She became the first female in NCAA history to run the 400-meter hurdles in under 52 seconds. She won multiple national titles in the 400-meter hurdles and the 4×400-meter relay.

In 2019, McLaughlin-Levrone turned pro and began competing at the international level. She quickly made an impact, winning silver at the World Championships in the 4×400-meter relay and setting a new American record in the 400-meter hurdles.

It was no surprise when McLaughlin-Levrone was named the US Female Athlete of the Year by Track and Field News in 2021. She had a dominant season, winning gold at the World Championships in the 4×400-meter relay and setting a new personal best in the 400-meter hurdles. And she didn’t stop there – she repeated her win in 2022, again receiving 100% of the votes and becoming the first female athlete to win the back-to-back award since Gale Devers in 2002 and 2003.

As she looks ahead to the 2024 Olympics, McLaughlin-Levrone is poised to continue her dominance on the track and make her mark as one of the greatest runners in American history.

Kara Winger rounded off the top 10 in the voting by placing sixth, followed by Sandi Morris, Anna Hall, Katie Nageotte, and Abby Steiner.
