Elaine Thompson won the women’s 100m while Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was 3rd best over 200m at Saturday’s Seniors Link Up held in Kingston.

At the Stadium East Meet, MVP’s Thompson, the World Championships 200m silver medallist, topped heat four of the women’s 100m in 11.07 (+0.0m/s wind) ahead of Anneisha McLaughlin-Whilby of Sprintec 11.41. Thomspon's equalled the world lead of 11.07 ran by American Morolake Akinosun

Audra Segree, also of Sprintec, 11.45 and UTech’s Shimayra Williams 11.69 were 3rd and 4th respectively.

Christania Williams of UTech 11.73, along with MVP’s athletes Sheniqua Ferguson (Bahamas) 11.82, Carrie Russell 11.88 and Janelle Kelly 11.91, also ran in the same heat.

Fraser-Pryce, the World and Olympic 100m champion, ran 23.24 for 3rd in the women’s 200m (-2.8m/s wind). Her MVP teammate Stephanie McPherson 23.12 and UTech’s Shericka Jackson 23.21 beat her in heat 1.

Segree 23.23 and her Sprintec teammates Anastasia Le-Roy 23.42 and Gayon Evans 23.95 were also in heat 1.

Edwin Allen Patrice Moody topped section 2 in 24.23 (-2.7m/s wind).

MVP’s Julian Forte was the fastest in the men's 100m. He won the overall section in 10.28secs ahead of Commonwealth Games 200m champion Rasheed Dwyer of Sprintec 10.43 (-1.6m/s wind).

Andrew Fisher, also of MVP, was 3rd in 10.59, while Racers’ Jevaughn Minzie, finished 4th in 10.69.

Racers’ Michael Fraser, the 2003 World 100m silver medallist, won heat 6 in 10.60 ahead of Jermaine Hamilton of Sprintec 10.63 (-2.4m/s wind).

GC Foster College’s trio – Chadic Hinds 21.00, Collin King 21.10 and Brandon Tomlinson 21.20 were the top three 200m men (-3.2m/s wind).

Rusheen McDonald of MVP 21.55 was 5th in the same section.

Romario Williams of GC Foster College was timed in 20.9, hand time, for section 2 (-3.1m/s wind).
