Bahamian former World Under-20 champion Anthonique Strachan clocked a world-leading and personal-best 10.99 seconds (w+0.5) in the 100 meters at the John Wolmer Speed Fest on March 26.

Strachan beat Jamaican and Sprintec Shashalee Forbes (11.24).

Multiple Olympic winner Elaine Thompson-Herah was third in the 400 meters in 56.72. The winner, hurdler Rushell Clayton posted 54.41.

Sada Williams of Barbados clocked 22.93 seconds (w+1.5) in the 200 meters; Nigel Ellis topped the men´s 200 meters in 20.43 (w+1.2) with Yohan Blake winning his heat in 20.95 (w+2.1).

Ackeem Blake won the 100 meters final in 10.13 seconds (w+0.6), while Zharnel Hughes clocked 10.15 (w+1.3). Hurdler Jaheel Hyde posted a 45.78 personal best in the 400 meters.

Shanieka Ricketts got out to 13.94 (w+1.0) in the triple jump.

In the discus throw, Travis Smikle flung 65.07 meters over Fedrick Dacres (62.25); and on the women’s side, Shadae Lawrence threw 63.94 meters, the third-best of her career and the best on Jamaican soil.
