Olympic Games sprint double champion Elaine Thompson-Herah won the women’s 200m dash at Saturday’s (29 Aug) Velocity Fest 7 at the National Stadium.

Thompson-Herah took top honours in the 200m, running 22.79 for victory.

Bahamian Anthonique Strachan, and Thompson-Herah training partner at MVP, finished second in 23.87.

Two other MVP athletes, Indian Srabani Nanda, 24.06 and Junelle Bromfield, 24.33 finished third and fourth respectively.

Rusheen McDonald, also of MVP, ran 21.48 to take the men’s half-lap event. Trinidad and Tobago’s Emmanuel Callender, representing Pelicans Track Club, finished second in 21.88.

Janieve Russell of MVP was the lone competitor in the women’s 400m hurdles. She crossed the line in 58.28.
