Ready for Brussels Diamond League Elaine Thompson-Herah Tokyo 2020
Elaine Thompson To Skip Diamond League 100m final in Brussels (September 6)

Olympic Games sprint double Elaine Thompson-Herah won the women’s 100m at Saturday’s (18 July) Velocity Fest at Jamaica College.

The Rio 2016 100m and 200m winner won Saturday’s event in Kingston with a reasonable 11.19secs. Thompson ran into a -0.6m/s wind.

Shashalee Forbes, World and Olympic Games medallist, ran 11.49 for second overall and in heat three behind Thompson.

Last week, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran a world-leading 11secs flat to win the event.

Julian Forte topped the men’s 100m event in 10.03 ahead of Romario Williams, who won his heat in 10.33.

Nesta Carter, 10.35, Nigel Ellis, 10.47 and Oshane Bailey, 10.50 rounded off the top five finishers.

Megan Tapper, the lone competitor in the women’s 100m hurdles, crossed the line in 13.38.

Rashee Broadbell was the only finisher in the men’s 110m hurdles. He did 13.47s.
