Ready for Brussels Diamond League Elaine Thompson-Herah Tokyo 2020
Elaine Thompson To Skip Diamond League 100m final in Brussels (September 6)

Elaine Thompson-Herah, Yohan Blake, Tajay Gayle, Asafa Powell, Shericka Jackson and O’Dayne Richards headline a list of senior Jamaican senior athletes to open their 2021 season on Saturday (27 Feb).

The day’s event, starting at 3:00 pm will be Streamed LIVE on Trackalerts.com’s social media pages.

Thompson-Herah, the Rio 2016 Olympic sprint double champion, will run the women’s 400m at the JAAA Qualifying Trials at the National Stadium in Kingston. She has a personal best of 55.88, which she ran in 2019.

Christine Day and Roneisha McGregor are the more seasoned quarter milers down to compete. Jura Levy, Anthonique Strachan, Srabani Nanda (India) and Amoi Brown are also in the event.

Yohan Blake, Nesta Carter, Bentley, Ramone Barnswell, and Michael Campbell are among 43 entrances for the men’s 200m.

World long jump champion Gayle will be in his pet event.
O’Dayne Richards will contest the men’s shot put and Chad Wright in the men’s discus.

Jackson, the World and Olympic Games 400m bronze medallist, will lead the women’s 200m field.

Jackson, whose personal best is 22.05, will face Stephenie-Ann McPherson, Natasha Morrison, Janieve Russell, Remona Burchell, Shashalee Forbes, Tonea Jenkins, Anastasia Le-Roy, Ronda Whyte and Candice McLeod.

Powell will face the starter in the men’s 60m. Andrew Fisher (Bahrain) will also run the event.

Ashanti Moore and McGregor will contest the women’s 60m dash.

The men’s 400m will have Denar Murray, Michael Bentley, Malik James-King, Nigel Ellis, Julian Forte, Andel Miller, Delano Williams (Great Britain), Antonio Watson (Petersfield High), and Keeno Burrell.

Levy, Tissanna Hickling, Kashieka Cameron, Jodean Williams, Yanique Thompson and Sashieka Steele are in the women’s 100m.

Zharnel Hughes (Great Britain), Oblique Seville, Michael Stephens, Oshane Bailey, Emmanuel Callender (Trinidad and Tobago), Tyreke Wilson and Devaughn Baker are just some of the 46 names for the men’s 100m.
