Dethroned champion Simon finished second in 52.24 and Honor Finley of Kansas, 52.27.

Jamaican Kevona Davis narrowly missed winning two gold medals.

In the women’s 60m, Davis and her Texas Longhorn teammate Kynnedy Flannel both crossed the line in 7.25 seconds. The photo finish clock, however, gave Davis 7.245 to Flannel 7.242

Davis, in the 200m, broke 23 seconds indoors for the first time but had to settle for the second spot behind Flannel. Davis crossed the line in 22.87 behind Flannel’s 22.55, a new meeting record.

Ackera Nugent also missed out on winning the women’s 60m hurdles.

Nugent, who ran 7.91 to equal the world U20 record in Friday’s semi-finals, could only manage 7.98 in the final.

She was beaten by Texas Longhorn’s Chanel Brissett, who wrote her name in the record book. Her 7.89 established a new Championship Record and Colligate Lead.

Brianna Rollings, who represented Clemson, is the collegiate record holder with 7.78s.

Micaiah Harris of Texas topped the men’s 200m in 20.38. Ashton Hicks of Oklahoma State won the men’s 400m in 46.02.
