Christopher Taylor wins 200m at Jamaica Invitational 2018

Several Jamaicans will be on show this weekend (7 Feb) at the third American Track League in Arkansas.

Andre Ewers, Christopher Taylor, Omar McLeod, Damar Forbes, Christania Williams, Shiann Salmon, Dominique Blake, Brittany Anderson and Rushelle Burton will be the Jamaicans in action at Randal Tyson Track Center, Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Ewers is among 12 registered sprinters down for the 60m dash, to be headed by meet one winner Trayvon Bromell of USA.

Again, Taylor will try to match stride for stride with American Fred Kerley in the men’s 400m. In race one, also in Arkansas, Kerley pulled away from the field to beat Taylor, 45.03 to 45.73.

Omar McLeod, who ran the 60m dash in meet one, will turn out in his first 60m hurdles of the season. MeLod’s 6.70 seconds run was only good enough for 6th then.
Forbes will line up in the men’s long jump.

Williams and Blessing Okagbare will again face off in the women’s 60m dash. In the first meeting, Williams narrowly missed winning the event. She ran 7.18, just losing out to Blessing Okagbare 7.17.

Salmon will test her speed in the women’s 200m against Okagbare and Americans Jenna Prandini and Ashley Spencer.

Blake is down for the women’s 400m where she will face Americans Shakima Wimbley and Shamier Little. Shaunae Miller-Uibo beat Little at the second meet.

Anderson and Burton will be tested by LSU’s Colligate athlete Tonea Marshall, who is on top her game this season, in the women’s 60m hurdles.
