Two-time world 200m winner Dafne Schippers has been confirmed September’s 6 Lotto Kamila Skolimowska Memorial in Chorzow, Poland.

Schippers will face Ewa Swoboda in the 100m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold event.

“This season is absolutely crazy – no Olympics, no European Championships, with the Diamond League meetings reduced to a minimum. It might turn out that the start in Poland will be my most important one this season! I’m very excited, and I can’t wait for my duel with Dafne Schippers,” said the European indoor 60m champion.

World discus champion Daniel Stahl will face the man he succeeded, Andrius Gudzius.

Despite his recent knee surgery, Piotr Malachowski is also down to take part.

Former world javelin champion Johannes Vetter will also be present at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting.

As usual, the hammer will be a top event with the top two in the World Pawel Fajdek and Wojciech Nowicki.

Other stars of Polish athletics are also set to compete at the Silesian Stadium. Among them – the last World Championships bronze medalists: pole vaulter Piotr Lisek and middle-distance runner Marcin Lewandowski, European champion and runner-up in the shot put: Michał Haratyk and Konrad Bukowiecki, as well as European 400m champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic. Admission to the Slaski Stadium will be free, and it is expected about 13 000 fans will be admitted.
