Threatened with expulsion by World Athletics due to the non-payment of an outstanding fine, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin has guaranteed to pay the $6.31 million to facilitate the reinstatement process.

“Russian Minister of Sport, Oleg Matytsin, gave an unconditional commitment that the outstanding $6.3million would be paid in full by no later than the 15 of August 2020.

“He has also indicated his intention to support the reinstatement process moving forward,” said Taskforce chairman Rune Andersen.

The fine was handed to the RusAF for their involvement in covering up the Danil Lysenko doping case.

Andersen added the process for Russian athletes applying for ANA status in order to compete internationally will resume if the conditions are met.

On the other side if not, RusAF will be expelled from World Athletics.
