DOHA, Qatar – Rasheed Dwyer has pulled out of the men’s 100m at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 (Video Below).

Dwyer, according to his coach, Maurice Wilson, decided its in the best interest of the sprinter to concentrate on one event.

Both coach and athlete believe the chances of a medal is in the men’s half-lap event.

“We have made a strategic decision at this point not to double,” said Wilson, who is also the head coach of Jamaica’s team.

“When we looked at the condition, when we look at how difficult it is to recover, we felt a better opportunities presents itself in the 200m,” he added.

  1. Good luck! I respect his decision… but why so late? At this moment his reasons are not valid. He should have decided it right after the Jamaica Track and Field National Trials 2019. It means he wasted one spot for his country, which could have been filled in by Asafa Powell(10.02 July 24th) or Waseem Williams(10.01 July 5th) or Andre Ewers(10.06 May 11th) It feels like he robbed them in a way….
