Spanish Olympic Games 110m hurdles silver medallist Orlando Ortega is aiming to break the sub-13 barrier this summer.

According to MARCA, Ortega said, “I always want to improve my times and my dream is to beat the 12.94 that I have had since 2015 – still as a Cuban.”

“In general terms, I would say that the great objective is to lower 13 seconds for the second time,” he added.

Ortega, who lost to Jamaican Omar McLeod last weekend at the Shanghai Diamond League, is planning to run the 100m this season.

He hopes to be part of the Spanish 4x100m team for the European Championships in Berlin.
