World 110m hurdles bronze medallist Orlando Ortega of Spain has commented publicly on the situation with Jamaica’s Omar McLeod.

Ortega, impeded by Mcleod in the final of the men’s 110m hurdles at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019, was given a share of the medal after an appeal.

Ortega, who was third at the time of McLeod interference, was awarded a share of the bronze medal after two appeals by his Spanish federation.

“I feel upset,” said Ortega. The former Cuban athlete said he is more upset “because he (McLeod) says nothing face to face to me, and of course, I feel really sad this moment.”

McLeod did, however, issued a public apology to Ortega on the same night of the race. “I am very disheartened for Ortega,” said McLeod, who added, “if I could take that back, I would.”
