Noah Lyles, the world 200m champion, is confident he can surpass Usain Bolt’s world record of 19.18.

When asked about this, Lyles told BBC Sport, “It may sound absurd, but I personally don’t think it will be difficult to break the record. My training program in 2022 was not as comprehensive as it could have been, we held back too much. With a new benchmark in place, I’m training as if I’m a 19.3 runner, pushing myself to the limit.”

Lyles believes that by giving his all to his training, he can break the record that many consider untouchable. He is taking a hardline approach to his training, pushing himself to be the best he can be and breaking the record that has stood for so long.

He is not underestimating the challenge, but his confidence in his ability to succeed can change how the world views the 200m race.

Lyles’ dedication to the sport and commitment to achieving the impossible is inspiring, and if he succeeds, he will become a legend of the sport.
