Shaunae Miller-Uibo ran a stunning 21.74s to win the IAAF Diamond League women’s 200m title in Zurich on Thursday (29 Aug).

Miller-Uibo, who challenged off the curve by Dina Asher-Smith of Great Britain, exploded in the last 60 meters to win easy.

Her time, 21.74 is a Bahamian record, World Lead, and Diamond League record.

“Oh my gosh. It is a blessing. This is my last run before the World Championships. My coach did a great job. I am in great shape. It is just a blessing.

“I am very happy about it. I am very excited. This is my second PB in Zurich, I guess, it is a good track for me,” Miller-Uibo said.

Elaine Thompson, who was third in 22.44, had the previous world lead of 22.00.

Asher-Smith, one of the favourites for gold in Doha 2019, finished second in 22.08.

Two-time defending world champion Dafne Schippers ended 4th in 22.46.
