Several fans were disappointed when the athletes came out to start the event at the Thomas A Robinson Stadium, but Hodge was nowhere to be found.
According to information reaching Trackalerts.com, travel issues and a snowstorm in the United States had affected the team’s travel plans in the Bahamas.
Hodge, who ran a world U20 200m record of 22.33 during the indoor season, was expected to face off against Jamaica’s Alana Reid in the meet’s most highly anticipated race.
Reid ran an impressive 10.92 at Champs, while Hodge came to prominence when she shocked Jamaicans at the Carifta Games last year with mind-blowing times in the U17 100m and 200m races.
