Daniele Williams and Joella Lloyd were winners at Friday’s (12 Feb) Clemson Tiger Paw Invite in South Carolina, USA.

Antiguan Lloyd went into the final with the sixth-fastest time and returned with a national record run of 7.20 seconds.

The University of Tennessee sprinter ran 7.38 to qualify, but later beat her previous national record of 7.27.

Abby Steiner of Kentucky took second run 7.21 and Halle Hazzard of Virginia, third in 7.26.

In the women’s 60m hurdles, Williams won the final in a season-best 7.87 seconds. She finished ahead of Masai Russell of Kentucky in 8.09.

Jamaican Trishauna Hemmings, who represents Clemson, finished fourth in 8.15.

British Virgin Islands’ Kyron McMaster ran 45.92 in the men’s 400m, while Jamaican Kemar Mowatt was eighth in 46.78. Randolph Ross of North Carolina A&T won the event in 45.21.

Andrenette Knight, representing Virginia, ran 55.13 for eighth in the women’s 400m. Brittany Aveni won the event in 52.35.

In the men’s shot put, Roje Stona of Clemson threw 17.94m for fifth. Daniel McArthur of North Carolina won the event with 20.20m.
