Stephenie-Ann McPherson ready for Tokyo 2020 gold ... Briana and Sha'Carri

Jamaican Ronald Levy and Stephenie-Ann McPherson were winners while Briana Williams finished fifth and Sha’Carri Richardson second in the women’s 100m at Sunday’s (5 Sept) at the Meeting Città di Padova in Italy.

Levy, the bronze medal winner from Tokyo 2020, crossed the finish line in 13.34 seconds to beat Italian Paolo Dal Molin, 13.45.

McPherson’s victory came in the women’s 400m. She ran 50.78 in her first race since she went off on a stretcher at the end of the women’s 400m final in Tokyo.

Junelle Bromfield, McPherson’s training partner at MVP, finished third in 51.19. Polina Miller, Authorised Neutral Athlete, finished second in 50.96.

In the women’s 100m, Briana Williams finished fifth in 11.44. Americans Javianne Oliver and Sha’Carri Richardson were credited with 11.19, but the former got the edge.

Rusheen McDonald, 46.32, was last in the men’s 400m. Wilbert London of the USA won the event in 45.22

Cindy Sember of Great Britain won the women’s 100m hurdles in 13.01 ahead of Americans Payton Chadwick, 13.08 and Taliyah Brooks, 13.26.
