Jamaican sprinting talent Kiara Grant won the women's 200m at the Great Dane Classic here on Saturday, 11 January.

STATE COLLEGE, USA – Kiara Grant was in top form on Friday’s opening day of the Penn State National Meet.
Grant won the women’s 60m in 7.20 seconds ahead of Elliott took the second spot with 7.34.

In the heats, Grant recorded the fastest time of 7.28 while Jaliyah Elliott did 7.37. The former Alpha student improved to 7.27 in the semi-finals, and again, Elliott was second best with 7.37.

Grant also won the invitational 200m in 23.66s.

Isaac Elliott took the men’s 60m dash in 6.72s ahead of Justin Ofotan, 6.75s.

Gairy Springer of Indiana Tech won the men’s 200m in 21.70 and Destiny Ward of Maryland, winner of the women’s 200m in 24.64.

Shyheim Wright improved in the men’s 60 hurdles to 7.67. Edit Pessima won the women’s event in 8.23s.

Alexa Parks of Penn State topped the women’s high jump with her 1.83m clearance while Nuh-uh Andu cleared 2.17m.

T’Mond Johnson won the men’s shot put with 19.33m.
