Kevona Davis runs 11.15 at LSU Invitational

Stacey Ann Williams and O’Brien Wasome were Jamaican winners. At the same time, Kevona Davis picked up two second-place finishes at Saturday’s (3 April) Texas vs Texas A&M Dual at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, TX.

Wiliams, representing Texas, ran 51.24 to beat fellow Jamaican and Texas A&M’s Charokee Young, 51.52 in the women’s 400m.
A&M’s Syaira Richardson, 52.73, and Tierra Robinson-Jones, 52.85, finished third and fourth, respectively.

Jonathan Jones, 45.82 and Willington Wright, 47.16, gave Texas 1-2 in the men’s 400m.

Wasome of Texas won the men’s triple jump with 15.83m. CJ Stevenson of Texas A&M finished second with 15.19m and Wasome’s teammate Stacy Brown Jr, third with 14.65m.
Wasome, in the long jump, got 7.71m for second behind his teammate Steffin McCarter, 7.99m.

Kevona Davis second in both sprints

In the 100m, Davis ran 11.35s to finish behind her senior teammate Kynnedy Flannel, 11.23.

In the 200m, Davis crossed the finish line in 22.89 seconds, again behind Flannel 22.55.

Micaiah Harris of Texas won the men’s sprint double.
He won the men’s 100m in 10.28 ahead of Devon Achane of Texas A&M 10.30. Harris returned to take the 200m in 20.63 ahead of Lance Broome of Texas A&M 20.86.

Sanique Walker of Texas finished third in the women’s 400m hurdles with 60.15. Dominique Mustin of Texas A&M won the event in 58.48 ahead of Brooke Jaworski of Texas 58.72.

Trinidad and Tobago’s national Tyra Gittens, representing Texas A&M, won the women’s high jump with a 1.90m clearance.

Davis of Texas won the women’s 100m hurdles in 13.14 ahead of Kennedy Smith of Texas A&M 13.34.
In the long jump, Davis leapt 6.71 meters to dominate the event. On her two other jumps, she reached out 6.39m and 6.56m.
Deborah Acquah of Texas A&M finished second with 6.24m.

In the 4x100m relay, Kevona Davis and Kynnedy Flannel helped Texas to an east 43.87 victory over Texas A&M 44.46.

Texas with Wasome also won the men’s 4x100m, crossing the line in 39.08 over Texas A&M 39.73.

In the 4x400m relays, Young and Athing Mu helped Texas A&M to 3:29.43 ahead of Texas 3:38.13.
A&M also won the men’s event in 3:03.72 over Texas at 3:06.16.

  1. I don’t care what anyone says, but Kevona Davis should be making big money now. Briana Williams and Tamari Davis a mek it big time and they are in college, so why Kevona couldn’t take the BIG CASH and go school same way?
