Kevona Davis runs 11.15 at LSU Invitational

Kevona Davis was a second-place finisher at Saturday’s (24 April) LSU Alumni Gold meeting in Baton Rouge, LA.

Davis, representing the University of Texas Longhorns, ran 23.15 to finish behind her senior teammate Kynnedy Flannel, 22.75.

Two other Jamaicans, Kavia Francis of Baylor, 23.44 and Stacey-Ann Williams of Texas Longhorns, 23.63, were fourth and eighth.

Former Hydel star Charokee Young and USA junior star Athing Mu helped Texas A&M win the women’s 4x400m relay in 3:27.16 ahead of LSU 3:29.01.
Williams’ team finished third in 3:29.83.

Lamara Distin of Texas A&M took the second-place spot in the women’s triple jump with 13.24m. Lynnika Pitts of Tiger Olympics won the event with 13.60m.

Texas A&M’s Deborah Acquah won the women’s long jump with 6.81m. She beat Mercy Abire of LSU 6.39m

Trinidad and Tobago’s Portious Warren took the women’s shot put with a throw of 18.12m. Elena Bruckner of Texas finished second with 17.04m.
