Kevon Davis, twin sisters Tia and Tina Clayton will open their season today, 25 January, at the St. Elizabeth Invitational in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth.

Davis, who last raced on 4 June 2019 and missed to Jamaica Trials, is preparing for Champs, World U20 Championships and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Davis, who has a personal best of 11.16, ran 11.19 seconds to win the Class 1 girls’ 100m at Champs 2019.

Tia and Tina Clayton last participated at Jamaica’s Junior Championships late June 2019.

Michael Dyke, Edwin Allen’s head coach, was quoted by the Gleaner saying: “This is their first race of the season, and the focus will be on execution.”

“The objective for all three will be the IAAF World Under-20 Championships, and that is the reason why there had been a delay in them taking the track this season,” he added.

“I want to ensure that they peak at the right moment,” concluded Dyke.
All three are solid contenders to make Jamaica’s World U20 Championships team. Davis, once fit, should make Jamaica’s Olympic Games team.
