Julien Alfred 10.80, Kevona Davis 10.83 for West Regionals

Kevona Davis finished second behind Julien Alfred at Saturday’s (14 Jan) University of Louisville Cardinal Classic Indoor Track and Field Meet.

Julien Alfred, a senior from the University of Texas, crossed the finish line in 23.10 seconds to take the top spot in the women’s 200m. 

Fellow Longhorn Kevona Davis, a sophomore, finished second with a time of 23.57 seconds. Also representing the University of Texas was Lanae Thomas, a senior, who finished third with a time of 23.65 seconds. 

Rounding out the top four was Kennedy Simon, another senior from Texas, in 23.81 seconds.

In the men’s 200m race, Cameron Miller from the University of Louisville took home first place with a time of 20.77 seconds. Marcellus Moore from the University of Texas finished second with 21.29 seconds, while Brian Herron, also from Texas, came in third with a time of 21.35 seconds.

In the women’s 60m race, the University of Texas dominated yet again, with Ezinne Abba taking first place with a time of 7.28 seconds. Taylor Herbert from the University of Louisville came in second with a time of 7.38 seconds, followed by Texas’ Kennedy Simon with a time of 7.50 seconds.

Marcellus Moore from Texas continued his strong performance in the men’s 60m race, winning first place with a time of 6.63 seconds. Nolton Shelvin and Daniel Garland, both from Texas, came in second and third place with times of 6.69 and 6.75 seconds, respectively.

The women’s 800m race saw Valery Tobias from the University of Texas taking the top spot with a time of 2:08.21. Miami (Fla.)’s Natalie Varela and Emma Maurel came in second and third place with times of 2:09.43 and 2:10.65 seconds, respectively.

In the men’s 800m race, Crayton Carrozza from the University of Texas took first place with a time of 1:48.65. Oskars Bambals from Miami (Fla.) came in second with a time of 1:51.18, followed by Martin Presley, unattached, with a time of 1:51.79.
