Jonielle Smith beat her training partner Natalliah Whyte in the women’s 100m, a non-Diamond League event, in Zurich on Thursday (29 Aug).

Smith ran 11.25 to cross the line ahead of Whyte, 11.37. Marije van Hunenstijm of Netherland, 11.56.

“I wanted to run the race very fast because I was doing pretty good during the training. I´m happy that I came through and get the best start.

“I hope to get back to the training very soon and looking forward to the World Championships next month,” Smith said.

Michael O’Hara, in the men’s 110m hurdles, another non-Diamond League event here, was 4th in 13.79. Pascal Martinot-Lagarde won the event in 13.51
