Hemmings, formerly of Hydel, topped the women’s 200m for Clemson in 23.12. She beat Anna Keefer of North Carolina, 23.56 and Jada Seaman of Virginia, 23.60 for the gold medal.

Hemmings also took bronze in the women’s 60m hurdles. Her personal-best effort of 8.09 placed her behind Miami’s Tiara McMinn, 8.00 and Erin Marsh of Duke, 8.06.

The pair of spectacular performances on Saturday made Hemmings the ACC Women’s Track Most Valuable Performer of the meet. Hemmings is the first Tiger to receive the honour indoors since Dezerea Bryant in 2012 and 2013.

“This is all part of the transition that we’re seeing from Trishauna, from when we recruited her out of Hinds CC until now,” said Mark Elliott, Clemson’s Director of Track & Field. “Coach Lennox [Graham] has done an awesome job with her, and you can see there’s still room to grow… To see her do that and now be track MVP in the ACC, it’s a tall task, and she’s deserving of it all.”
