Ashinia Miller wins

Jamaican Ashinia Miller was a winner at Monday’s (31 May) area permit meeting in Tallinn, Estonia.

Miller, who like several athletes were returning to competition for the first time in months, won the men’s shot put with 18.96m.

The coronavirus, which has killed over 372,000 worldwide, caused many sporting events, included the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, to be postponed or cancelled in the last three months.

In the hammer throw, Adam Kelly of USA topped the field with 69.12 ahead of Toomas Tankler 64.90m.

The women’s discus throw went to Hanna-Maria Kupper with 49.42m.

Gerli Israel with 50.14m beat Gedly Tugi 49.80m in the women’s javelin.
