Jamaican Kemba Nelson stormed to victory in the women’s 60m dash at Saturday’s (30 Jan) Razorback Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

In her first year at Oregon, Nelson topped the women’s 60m dash in a personal best 7.19 seconds. She beat Twanisha Terry (USC) 7.24 and Brianna Duncan (Oregon) 7.30.

On Friday’s opening day, Nelson ran 23.53 to finish behind Terry, 23.35 in the women’s 200m.

Micah Williams (Oregon) won the men’s 60m in 6.56 ahead of Brendon Stewart (USC) 6.64 and Roman Turner (Arkansas) 6.66.

Jamaican Xavier Nairne (Oregon) finished sixth in 6.88. Nairne ran 21.25 on Friday for fourth in the 200m, won by Matthew Boling (Georgia) 20.53.

Ryan Brown, (Arkansas) another Jamaican, jumped 15.89m for second in the men’s triple jump. Emmanuel Ihemeje (Oregon) won the event with 16.41m.
In the men’s long jump on Friday, Brown recorded 7.54 to finish behind Allen Gordon (Ole Miss) 7.72m.

In the women’s 60m hurdles, Jamaicans Rosealee Cooper (Mississippi State) finished third in 8.23 and Daszay Freeman (Arkansas), fifth in 8.31. Imani Carothers (Georgia) won the event in 8.06.

Tre’Bien Gilbert (Arkansas) ran 7.84 to win the men’s event ahead of Jesse Henderson (Mississippi State) 7.93.

Paris Peoples (Arkansas) topped the women’s 400m final in 52.48 ahead of Nicole Yeargin (USC) 52.51 and Jan’Taijah Ford (USC) 52.89.

Elija Godwin (Georgia) took the men’s 400m in 45.56 ahead of Nicholas Ramey (USC) 46.41 and Jalen Brown (Arkansas) 46.56.
