Jamaica won the women’s 4x100m relay on Saturday’s penultimate day of the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019.

The team of Natalliah Whyte, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Jonielle Smith and Shericka Jackson, in that order, won comfortably in 41.44, holding off Great Britain & Northern Ireland (41.85) and USA (42.10).

Smith said: “We are world champion, it can’t any better than that, with a world-leading time.”

“This success did not come without hardship and pain and sacrifices,” said Fraser-Pryce, who had earlier won her fourth 100m world title.

“There are so many things that have happened on this journey.”
