Rio Dream 1024x531 1 1024x531 1Jamaica, with a time of 37.94 seconds, placed second in heat 2 of the men’s 4×100 relays to secure their place in the final, set for Friday (19 August). Japan won the heat in 37.68sec.

Jamaica’s team of Jevaughn Minzie, Asafa Powell, Nikel Ashmeade and Kemar Baley- Cole, was running well, with Powell absolutely flying on the backstretch. However, Bailey- Cole, on anchor, was caught and passed by the Japanese athlete.

With Usain Bolt and Yohan Blake to be added to the event, Jamaica will have more firepower to take on their rivals.

The team from Trinidad and Tobago with Keston Bledman, Rondel Sorrillo, Emmanuel Callender and Richard Thompson, also makes it to the finals, having finished third in the same semifinal, behind Jamaica, in a time of 37.96sec.

This makes for a mouthwatering final, as the US team also won their heat in 37.65 sec, booking their place in the finals.

Antigua and Barbuda with Chavaughn Walsh, Cejhae Greene, Jared Jarvis and Tahir Walsh combined for 38.44, but like St. Kitts and Nevis with Jason Rodgers, Kim Collins, Allistar Clarke and Antoine Adams, 39.81, failed to make the final cut.
