Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Elaine Thompson-Herah and Shericka Jackson clash over 200m on Sunday’s (27 June) final day of the 2021 Jamaica Olympic trials.

Shericka Jackson, who ran 10.82 in the final of the women’s 100m for second place, is the fastest from the 200m semi-finals. She ran 20.28 seconds on Saturday.

Fraser-Pryce, who won her fifth national 100m title, running 10.71, enters the final with 22.40. Thompson-Herah, the Rio 2016 sprint double winner, topped her semi-final in 22.90.

Fraser-Pryce, the fastest woman alive after her 10.63s clocking a few weeks ago, is among the favourites for Tokyo Olympic Games 100m title. American Sha’Carri Richardson, 10.72 this year, Elaine Thompson-Herah, 10.78 and Jackson, 10.77 have also found themselves in the mix.

British Dina Asher-Smith and Blessing Okagbare are also running fast times. Okagbare ran a wind-aided 10.63 at the Nigeria Olympic trials.

Omar McLeod, who narrowly beat Ronald Levy, 13.04 to 13.08 in the men’s 110m hurdles semi-finals, will be back in action today.

Britany Anderson, 12.65 and Danielle Williams, 12.70, are the top two qualifiers in the women’s 100m hurdles.
