Dawn Harper-Nelson, the 2008 Olympic 100m hurdles champion, who announced her comeback from retirement this week, says she resumed training one month after giving birth this April.
The American, who quit the track last year, wrote about her decision to come back at spikes.iaaf.org:
“I really didn’t want my daughter to grow up feeling that way, that I had to hang up my spikes because of her,” she said.
She continued: I didn’t want her birth to signify the death of Mommy’s dream.”
