Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Pulls Out Of 200m #Doha2019

Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce opened her season with a victory in the women’s 60m at Saturday’s (8 Feb) Milo Western Relays at GC Foster College in Spanish Town.

The four-time world 100m champion ran comfortably to win the women’s 60m dash in 7.32 seconds.

Fraser-Pryce, a two-time Olympic Games 100m champion, beat Natasha Morrison of Sprintec, 7.41s.

Jodean Williams 7.54 and Sashalee Forbes, 7.55 were third and fourth respectively.

The men’s race, which had most eyes on Tajay Gayle, the Doha 2019 World long jump champion, went according to the script.

Asafa Powell, the fastest in the field at 6.44s, ran 6.73 to edge put Andrew Fisher, who was credited with the same time.

Oshane Bailey 6.84 and Julian Forte, 6.85, were third and fourth respectively. 

Gayle finished fifth in 6.87.

  1. Asafa is looking strong, tajay Gayle is getting himself acclimated with racing on the big stage, so he will need a few more races under his belt, but it’s time for julian forte to stamp his class now, he very talented, and seem to be slipping away from the top tier of jamaican sprinting.
