Five Jamaicans are among seven Caribbean athletes down for Friday’s (8 July) Herculis EBS meeting, which fans can watch the Monaco Diamond League Live Stream.

The meeting will stage 14 Diamond League disciplines – 200m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, pole vault, triple jump and javelin for women.
Men will run the 100m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, 400m hurdles, and have in the field, high jump and long jump.

The 200m showdown will see Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the Doha 2019 world champion, against Olympic 400m champion Shanuae Miller-Uibo, American Tamara Clark and the in-form Blessing Okagbare and Marie-Josee Ta Lou.

Fraser-Pryce was quoted by the meet’s social media page, saying: “I’m having a lot of fun this year; breaking the 10.70-secs barrier has helped me a lot to gain confidence in my technique.”

“I’m delighted to be in Monaco; things have been great so far for me. I’m not putting pressure on myself. The most important lesson I learned as an athlete is to take things one step at a time,” added the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games 100m champion.

“Tomorrow, I am hoping to improve the time I ran in Kingston,” she said.

British Virgin Islands’ Kyron McMaster will be first on track. He will take on world record holder Karsten Warholm and Alison dos Santos in the women’s 400m hurdles.

Jamaicans Shanieka Ricketts and Kimberly Williams will challenge world champion Yulimar Rojas in the women’s triple jump.

Rojas said: “I am in the best shape of my life. In Monaco, I always want to show the best performance possible. I try to improve all the time.”

Natoya Goule-Toppin, for the second time in a week, faces Rose Mary Almanaz in the women’s 800m. Goule-Toppin ran a season-best 1:56.44 to lose to Almanaz 1:56.28 at Sunday’s (4 July) Stockholm Diamond League meet in Sweden.

Jamaica’s Doha 2019 world champion Tajay Gayle takes on Juan Miguel Echevarria and Miltiadis Tentoglou in the men’s long jump.
