Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in Tokyo 2020.... Paris Diamond League

Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games silver medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will race for the final time this season at the Galà dei Castelli in Bellinzona, Switzerland.

Fraser-Pryce, who ran two personal best times this season of 10.63 at a local meet in Kingston and 10.60, has eyes on  Florence Delorez Griffith Joyner (Flo-Jo) 1988 record of 10.49.

Fraser-Pryce will have two finalists from Tokyo 2020 to push her to the line at the World Athletics Continental Tour meet.

Swiss stars Ajla Del Ponte and Mujinga Kambundji, both sub-11 sprinters, should give Fraser-Pryce the push needed in her pursue of 10.49. 

Jamaican Natasha Morrison and Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle-Lee Ahye are also in the event.

The men’s 100m will have Jamaican Nigel Ellis, but the hot picks are Tokyo 2020 medallists Fred Kerley and Andre Degrasse. Justin Galin will also be in the mix.

Jamaican Natoya Goule, who missed winning the Diamond League title, will race in her pet event.

Christopher Taylor will line up in the men’s 400m against American Vernon Norwood.

Jaheel Hyde will run the men’s 400m hurdles and Damion Thomas’s 110m hurdles. Leah Nugent will start in the women’s 400m hurdles against Tokyo bronze medalist Femke Bol.

Candice McLeod and Morrison will run the women’s 200m.
