Miguel Francis sizzled at the Antigua and Barbuda National Championships at Yasco Sports Complex on Sunday (10 July).
Francis, who set a national record of 19.88 at the Racers Grand Prix on June 11, blazed to 19.67 (wind 0.4m/s) to take his second straight national 200m title.
The 21-year-old Team Force 2000 athlete finished well ahead of Coull Graham, 20.85 and Tahir Walsh, 21.28.
“Ran a world leading time today, can’t get it recognized on IAAF unfortunately,” Francis said of the uncertified track.
“I know where I am and I’m happy. It was a pleasure running in Antigua in front of everyone and I’ll always run here once I’m fit,” Francis wrote on his social media page
Samantha Edwards topped the women’s 200m final in 23.59 ahead of Joella Lloyd, 24.21 and Breana Roberts, 26.75.

Let them keep talking, I was at the racers Grand Prix and saw Miguels 19.88 it was impressive, and I’m expecting him to go 19.5. Predictions for the podium in the 200 meters, not in any order. Miguel, Bolt and Gatlin hopefully Blake gets it together b4 olympics and knock Gatlin off the podium.
