Jamaican Omar McLeod and Bahamian Shaunae Miller-Uibo were a part of an entertaining and innovative Inspiration Games today (9 July).

The eight events, seven venues, three time-zones event saw 28 athletes competed with most of the races taking place simultaneously in three cities – and broadcast via split-screen.

In the women’s 150m, Allyson Felix, running in Walnut, won the 150m in 16.81, a new US record, into a headwind of 2.6m/sec.

Miller-Uibo, who faced the starter in Bradenton, Florida, ran 17.15 into an unfavourable -2.5m/s wind for second in the event.

Mujinga Kambundji, who ran in Zurich, finished in 17.28 (+0.3).

Meanwhile, in the men’s 100-yard, McLeod finished third-best in 9.87s.

Andre Grasse, the race winner in 9.68, like McLeod, ran in Bradenton along with Jimmy Vicaut, 9.72.

Georganne Moline set a world 300m hurdle lead in Walnut 39.08 with Lea Sprunger second in Zurich in 39.25 and Zuzana Hejnova third in Papendal 40.97.
