Winston Barnes is now Emre Zafer Barnes. The former Jamaican athlete who switched allegiance to Turkey is now, according to the IAAF, eligible to represent his new country.

Barnes is currently representing Turkey at the 23rd European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam. He ran 10.31 seconds, but failed to make it past the first round.

He along with another former Jamaican, Jak Ali Harvey, formed a part of two Turkish teams in the last three months to run 4x100m national records of 39.27 (23 May) and 38.31 (12 June).

Meanwhile, the IAAF transfer of allegiance release also confirmed former Jamaicans, Kemarley Brown and Andrew Fisher, have completed their move to Bahrain.

Also, Brittney Howell has switched allegiance from USA to Jamaica. She is a heptathlon athlete.
