BOSTON, Massachusetts – Eliud Kipchoge, widely considered one of the greatest marathon runners of all time, will be looking to add another major win to his resume at this year’s Boston Marathon (17 April).
Kipchoge, who holds the world record with a time of 2:01:09, will be facing stiff competition from defending champion Evans Chebet, 2021 winner Benson Kipruto, and two-time victor Lelisa Desisa.
The field also includes several other top contenders, such as Shura Kitata, Ghirmay Ghebreslassie, and Albert Korir. In total, the race will feature seven sub-2:05 runners, making for a highly competitive event.
The Boston Marathon is one of the most prestigious marathons in the world, and its challenging course is known to test even the most seasoned runners. The weather can also be a significant factor, with potential rain and strong winds forecasted for race day.
But Kipchoge, who has proven himself time and time again as a dominant force in the marathon world, will be up for the challenge. His impressive track record includes Olympic gold and multiple major marathon wins.
All eyes will be on the start line on Monday as Kipchoge and his competitors take on the historic course in hopes of achieving Boston Marathon glory.
